We were at the Acumatica Summit, their annual event in Las Vegas between Jan 25-29th. We were amazed at how quickly this company moves to leverage new and emerging technologies for their customers.

Acumatica Summit is a premier event that we always look forward not just to learn more about what is new with the platform but also get a pulse on the energy of the vendor, customer and solution provider eco-system and learn from other partners and listen to customers. It is amazing how an in-person interaction with customers of a software product provides insights that cuts through all the marketing bluster.

We all have been hearing about AI buzzwords over the last couple of years and this conference was no different. What was quite different was the level of efficiency and integration that the Acumatica team has achived in integrating this game changing technology on their platform.

So, what is coming up with near and future releases of Acumatica? Along with the features that are standard industry problem solutions, the biggest change is in AI strategy. Acumatica believes that the AI strategy for the product falls into three categories:

1. Intelligent Advisors – Where AI analyzes the data and answers questions about it and provides advise with your and industry data.
2. Automation – Where you ask AI to create workflows, data flows or events based on various scenarios and it creates the automation for you there by eliminating a lot of base requests for customization
3. Interactive Assistants – Where AI can assist you in doing tasks in the system by using a small language model built with instructions that are system specific and vetted.

This theme was evident in the Hackathon, their technology pre-event where 11 out of 14 teams built solutions utilizing and leveraging AI to do common and repetitive tasks in the system in an intelligent and efficient manner.
